  • Temp Zeros: Go in every Friday for all lessons that are overdue.

  • End of Semester: We have just 3 more full weeks until the end of the semester! Make sure to use your time wisely. The final day and time to turn in work is February 2nd at 8:59 PM

  • Placeholder 0’s: Placeholder 0’s are in for the Unit 7 and 11 Portfolios. Contact me to clear the dropbox.

  • Dropped Assignments: The Unit 15 Portfolio, Unit 16 Discussion, and Unit 17 Test have all been dropped. Spend your time making up portfolios, submitting test corrections, and preparing for the Final Exam.

  • Academic Honesty: Do the right thing, work hard, and call ME if you are struggling!

Welcome! My name is Ms. Gutiérrez and I've been a Social Studies teacher at CA Connections Academy since Jan. 2020 and a classroom teacher since 2017. Honor Code

While there are many excellent resources online, students are expected to use ONLY their Pearson text book, lesson slides, and portfolio articles to complete assignments.​ If an assignment asks for an outside source, students MUST properly cite their sources. Refer to CheckMyWork to avoid any Honor Code Violations.

Honor Code Violation Consequences

Warning: A zero on the noted response(s) with a WebMail notification to student and caretaker. Student may resubmit response(s) to regain points.
 

First Offense: A zero for the entire assessment with the opportunity to earn points back after a conference between student, caretaker/learning coach, and teacher takes place.
 

Second Offense: A zero for the entire assessment (for a portfolio the student may resubmit work to earn partial credit) and a conference between student, caretaker/learning coach, teacher, and a school administrator.
 

Third Offense: A zero for the entire assessment (for a portfolio the student may resubmit work to earn partial credit) and a conference between student, caretaker/ learning coach, a school administrator, as well as all of student’s teachers.
