Welcome back and congratulations on finishing your first Semester of US History! For those that are new this Semester, I am your US History teacher and I am excited that you are joining us! Please bookmark our website: https://ms-gutierrez.wixsite.com/us11.

Preparation: I recommend checking out the resources on my website! Check out Unit Resources. ALL NOTES MAY BE USED ON ASSESSMENTS! The Quiz and Test Supplements are the actual assessment, with direction on where to find the answers. Make a copy of the Google Doc, then you can add your notes to it. Send the completed document to me after you complete the assessment for +5 extra credit on the assessment.

LiveLessons take place on Mondays, 10:00 - 11:00 am (You should see this on your planner!) Office Hours takes place at 11:00 am after LiveLesson. Stop by if you need help with something in my class. IMPORTANT….Your ZOOM account must be updated through Connexus so you have a full name and password that you enter with! This needs to be done before you can get into the room. If you need help with this, call: 800-382-6010

Portfolios: Follow directions that are in the website, and use the template if one is available. Our first portfolio will be in Unit 6. I will offer many resources through LiveLesson and on the website.

Quiz and Test Essay Responses: All quizzes and tests will have essay responses! It is very important to respond in complete sentences and answer the entire question. The Quiz and Test Supplements include outlines/sentence starters for all these questions. Write the response using the information from our course, not the internet. Internet answers will be an Honor Code Violation. If you aren’t certain what this is, please review: Honor Code Form.

Improving Scores: A failed assessment is never final in my course. There are many ways you can improve a score. Check out this information on the website! I have this information under Unit Resources > Extra Credit & Test Corrections.

YouCanBookMe: You can book a conversation with me through my site! These calls will count for you Participation Points in the class. https://ms-gutierrez.wixsite.com/us11/youcanbookme

Do Now: Add my name: Ms. Gutiérrez-US History, and my number: 209-207-5162 to your phone right now. Then, when I call you, you’ll know it’s me, or if you need to get a hold of me, it will be right there at your fingertips.

I am very excited for this semester and to help you be as successful as you can be! See you all next Monday 2/14 from 10am-11am, for our LiveLesson! :D
